Pharmacy POS software in Sri Lanka: expiry alerts, prescriptions and faster billing
Find medicines fast, control prescription-only items and keep expired stock off the counter.
Works offline · Multi-branch · Designed for Sri Lankan tax invoices
- Pharmacies
- Medical stores
- Pharmacy chains
- Hospital pharmacies
A pharmacy cannot afford to sell the wrong medicine, an expired batch or a prescription-only item without a check. Nveloop POS helps your team find medicines by brand or generic name, asks for a pharmacist’s approval before a prescription-only sale, and tracks every batch and expiry date so the oldest stock sells first and expired stock is blocked. It also handles purchase orders, stock alerts and WhatsApp prescription orders. It is designed for pharmacies, medical stores and pharmacy chains in Sri Lanka.

From opening to closing
- Morning
The dashboard shows medicines expiring soon and items to reorder. A purchase order goes to the supplier in a few clicks.
- Busy hour
The counter finds medicines by generic name, a prescription-only sale waits for the pharmacist’s approval, and a WhatsApp prescription is packed for delivery.
- Closing
Cash is counted, the delivery rider hands in the cash collected and the day-end report goes to the owner by email.
What to look for in a pharmacy POS
Safety comes first. Your POS should stop an expired batch being sold, warn you early about medicines close to expiry and make sure prescription-only items cannot be sold without a pharmacist’s approval. Search by generic name saves time when a customer brings a prescription written that way.
For the business side, look for low-stock alerts, purchase orders and supplier returns, plus discount rules so staff cannot give away margin. If you deliver medicines, an order desk with cash-on-delivery tracking keeps WhatsApp prescriptions organised.

How are prescription-only medicines handled?
They are flagged at the till, the prescription details can be recorded, and a pharmacist must approve the sale.
Can I search by generic name?
Yes. Medicines can be found by brand name or generic name.
Can customers send prescriptions by WhatsApp?
Yes. Prescriptions received on WhatsApp can be entered on the order desk for pickup or home delivery.
Does it connect to the NMRA?
No. Nveloop POS does not connect to the NMRA or keep a controlled-drugs register; your pharmacy remains responsible for those requirements.
